October Information

20 Ladies were in attendance at our October meeting.  We studied about three Missionaries making a difference in the lives of those in New Delhi, India.  This is a country where 80.5 percent of the population are Hindu, 13.4 percent are Muslim and only 2.3 percent Christian.  Even in the midst of the second-most populous country in the world, they were blessed to evidence of God drawing people to Himself.  Two of these missionaries followed the footsteps of their parents leading them into mission work.  Both sets of parents set an example for their children to serve Christ by serving others.  Our ladies present were challenged to set that same example in the life of their own families.  The third missionary had grown up experiencing hardships that only continued to get worse as he became an adult.  He found help at an organization these missionaries worked at and found new life in Christ.  His life became evident in that he began to help in every way that he could.  He folded clothes, helped with bandages, clipped toenails, fed patients, just any way he could serve.  All of this while being bound to a wheelchair himself.  We can always look around and find ways to serve if we just have that “want to” in our hearts.  The missionaries we learned about today were unable to have their real names used in our Mission Mosaic books because it could cause harm to them to have their identities revealed.

October Mission Project:  We will help provide the fold- over food trays needed for our Thanksgiving Dinner Outreach Project.  Last year over 600 dinners were prepared and delivered.  This year we expect to have many more due to recent job loss in our community.

We always pray for our Missionaries having birthdays on the specific day that we are meeting.

On November 15 & 16, several ladies will be traveling to Gatlinburg, TN for a Women’s Retreat.  They will be staying in a cabin overlooking  beautiful mountain scenery.  They will participate in a bible study, good time of fellowship and plan on working on some Christmas shopping while there.
